Desktop Publishing: The Community Status Report is a long-running Lubbock Area United Way publication that offers an assessment of community strengths, areas of need, and gaps in social services. The report is used by higher education institutes, other non-profit organizations, and city offices to determine grant needs and program funding.

Brochure Creation Copywriting

Print: Huffaker Law Office

Tri-fold brochure print piece created for the Huffaker Law Office. The brochure is a general communication piece created to outline the legal services offered by W. Calloway Huffaker and his team. The brochures include a virtual business card smart tag. When the brochure is in print format the tag can be scanned to easily add contact information to any smart phone.



Print: Y*100 Youth Leadership Program

Concept creation and copywriting for YWCA of Lubbock’s Y*100 Youth Leadership program.

Using the key values and activities of this youth leadership program, created the program brand depicting teen silhouettes comprised of these values and activities under the tag line, “Define Your World, Define Yourself.”

Print Design and Copywriting Copywriting

Print: Community Health Center of Lubbock

This portfolio segment includes print pieces created for the non-profit organization, Community Health Center of Lubbock (CHCL).

The four items above are flyers that are easily printed from an in-office printer, saving on time and money. In addition, the final versions of these print pieces are Word Template Documents, allowing CHCL staff to edit and/or add Dates, Times, Locations, etc. as needed.


ACA Outreach Print Collateral

The piece above is a folded business card-sized handout used by CHCL’s Affordable Care Act outreach team at health fairs and community outreach events. It includes an area of blank space where the outreach team member can write additional information for the person receiving the card.


Print Ad Print Ad CreationDisplayed here are two examples from a monthly series of print ads used in community newspaper publications. The first ad incorporates an area for coloring in order to help increase the pick-up rate and provide a reason for parents to keep this page. The second ad highlights pediatric services and health care providers.

In 2008 United Way of America rolled out new branding for all United Way chapters, Give. Advocate. Volunteer. Live United. This involved recreating all communication and marketing materials ranging from newsletters to the website, pledge forms to volunteer and donor collateral. Included here are two samples of these print pieces.

The Education Matters Initiative
Coined the title for this Lubbock area based program. In addition, this booklet was created to give an overview to education professionals, teachers, and others involved in the education system.



Print Newsletter Example—Fourth Quarter 2010
An example of one of the quarterly print newsletters mailed to donors and volunteers. In 2008, also created an electronic version of this newsletter with a subscriber list totaling 3,000 in December of 2010.
